Tim came to Mentone Community Church in June of 2012. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kathy and has two grown children, Cari and Adam, along with two incredible granddaughters, Kensy and Everly who are the joy of his life.
Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he has been active in serving the Lord in churches which include, Michigan, South Carolina, Indiana, Virginia and now the great state of Alabama.
Before entering the ministry full time, his education and experience include Electrical Masters/Contractors licenses for both Michigan and South Carolina.
Along with those licenses, his academic education include Cedarville College, Liberty University, Newburgh College of the Bible, and has earned a Doctorate of Divinity from Newburgh Theological Seminary.
Tim’s ultimate desire for ministry is to create an environment for God to do a heart change in the lives of His people, helping them to have a more intimate walk with Jesus.
“I am most in my comfort zone and greatest fulfillment as I preach and teach. To imagine Christ using me to encourage someone to draw closer to Him is such an awesome thought.”
Laura has been a part of Mentone Community Church since 1978. She met her husband Dwayne in high school and they married in 1991. They have two adult children, Jessica and Anthony.
Having grown up in Mentone, Laura has been involved as a volunteer with many areas of the church, including women’s ministry, children and youth ministries, and nursery ministry.
Laura graduated from Valley Head High School went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Jacksonville State University. She also has an MBA from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
After working in the corporate world for 20 plus years, Laura knew that her passion was in full time ministry. In 2016, Laura left the corporate world and joined the church in full time ministry as the Children’s Ministry Director. She is currently a ministerial student and should complete her coursework to become a Licensed Minister in the Wesleyan Church in May 2018.
Laura’s passion is children’s ministry. It is her desire that all children have the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ at an early age and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. Laura strives to connect with the children of our community outside of our church campus. She stays involved at our local elementary schools, athletic functions and school programs.
“Teaching and mentoring children is one of the best gifts that God has place in my life. Having the opportunity to lead children to Christ and nurturing their spiritual journey is so exciting! There is nothing else I’d rather do.”
